Just so that you know, we have been sailing only once when friends took us out this summer. Otherwise, we are essentially a land-based couple of longstanding, who are now building a house in Kintyre as our retirement home.  John worked in public service for far too long and now that he doesn’t (and when he’s not building), he does a bit of hill running and orienteering.

Suse takes full blame for the project. As a failed architect she has always harboured a desire to design a brilliant but sensible house and exploit her passion for sustainability (aka meanness). A writer by trade, she runs a one man publishing business Pages Editorial & Publishing Services, with the online Lothian Life magazine being it’s mainstay. Her other interests include Tai Chi, gardening and Writers’ Umbrella and she enjoys orienteering when the knees allow it.

We have two brilliant daughters, one of whom emigrated to Australia this summer, while the other is doing an M.Sc at Glasgow.
